Biography

Quayshaun Monte' Weston aka Kain aka ShortStop came into this world through Shanae Gibbs and Rodell Weston. Born at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, North Carolina on August 10th, 1991, Quayshaun was destined to be "somebody". "I don't remember anything before age 4, basically because at 4 lyfe got real." Many disastrous things have happened to him, but being the blessed warrior that he is, he made it through all challenges and difficulties. "I remember drinking Clorox when i was 6.." he says. "Why did you?", "It was in a Mello Yellow bottle, why not?". At least that's what he thought. Being a life threatening situation, he was rushed to the hospital and flushed clean of all the poisonous substances. "God was with me then, and he is still to this day."

"At 8 years old, life changed for me." "Me and my close cousin Rashem Cooper aka Yung Carolina used to dream of being rappers or wrestlers lol, we choose rapping. I remember we used to listen to beats and start rhyming words, without the bar, just rhyming words, that's how the career started." And boy did it take off from there. Releasing his first mixtape Bling Up Sling Up 2000, he was not a rapper, he was a candy rapper. "That was not even a 145th of the potential I have now. It took me a while to figure out how I would flow and ride beats, but it's paid off in the long run." He was not wrong.

Now He's 16 years old. "I AM A BEAST. What more can I say, I'm not cocky neither folks, I'm just Kain." He is so right. Being that he's dropped 6 mixtapes since his first mixtape with Yung Carolina all entitled as follows: Jackin Beatz Vol.1,Lyrically Phenominal,Gunz And Clipz Vol.1, Gunz And Clipz Vol.2, Confedential, and Verbal Homicide : he knows what he's doing. All the tracks have been bangers, but somewhat overlooked. "I feel that myspace is a great source of promotion, but you can't promote yourself without people that fake their plays and fake for their friends. Life Is Real. HOwever, I Still Feel Famous."

"I'm not a rapper, I'm a poet" is what this young artist on the come-up would say if asked. "I don't rap, i contact the mind with words not punchlines." Kain says. "I also need to explain what and who cokain is. Co-Kain Records is a family. It consists of Rapture, Da Truth, Young Stats, Young Dolo, B-Boy, Radamez, Koolbreeze, Swain, and Mz.Skillz. We are young NC artists trying to come-up and that's what's going to happen. 08' Is our's for the taking, get in the way and you getting trampled." Fiery words from a phenominal rapper. He's worked with many up and coming artists such as Da Goodfellas, Mr.Southside aka LIVE, Shorty Slice, Yung Extreme, Rapture, DA Truth, Cash, J-Cash, Willie Wii, Ciyuh, Lil Slice, Yung Millz, and many others. The list of tracks are longer than ever. Clocking in at 240 tracks just this year alone, Kain is a work-a-holic that will not be forgotten. "Ask Ricky Ruckus, I WILL NOT LOSE." - Try Me.." This artist will continue to be an artist and comedian for as long as ever. "DO NOT SLEEP ON ME"
