Tremain Jones, better known as MaiN~MaiN was born on November 14, 1990 at 3:33 am. It wasn't until the age of 10, him and poetry became a part of each other. While in class, MaiN~MaiN exclaimed, that the science teacher had asked everyone in class to write an essay, using their 30 vocab words; and told everyone they had the period to do so. Not only did little Tremain complete his story using the 30 words, but he also used a rhyme scheme, throughout every other sentance of his essay. The teacher loved it, and told Tremain, out of her 20 years teaching she had never had a student do that with their vocab words."I just thought it would help me go faster," Tremain added. His science teacher ended up keeping every one of his vocab essays, and every year she pulls them out and passes them around for the class to read.
Although he discoverd he could put part rhyme together, he didnt know anything about the mic until the next year. That's when he ran into H.H, now known as "Guidry the Hitmaker," and "Stan The Man", who now goes by Stan Collins. They collabed and formed a group at their middle school, that later became known as AC or Alabama's Cleanest. Tremain's first song was "Cellphones Ringing," feat. Cold Heat (Lenny Harrell) STM and H.H. "We were the only group in our middle school," Tremain mentioned. Later getting AC shirts for the group and with their names on the back, the young adolescents walked around with their heads up high, letting the world know they were coming.
Even though they were young the young artist Tremain was already looking to the future. Young Tremain had his first nickname, "La' Jet" by the time he had reached the end of 7th grade. The Determined group didn't realize it wasn't a game anymore until after winning first place at a talent show over the summer. From there on music for MaiN~MaiN became a hobby. He teamed up with STM and later called themselves "Stan And MaiN" came out with their first cd, going into the 9th grade. With the two hits Jumpin' and Maxin And Relaxin, they sold over 200 copies of their cd to fans and recieved a lumpsome amount of cash. Later on that year, Tremain and Stan Boyd performed at the highschool's first annual "Sparkman Idol." Although they didn't win, you can tell how the crowd reacted, who won the audiences vote. "Even though we were the only rap group," Tremain pointed out, "We still showed out."
People around his high school were already calling him Main, So he took that from his peers, and named himself MaiN~MaiN. Months after 10th grade had begun, Tremain, had never stopped writing, but since he had got his license and was on the virge of getting his car, his job he had got forced him to take a break from recording for a while. "Transportation ment gas money," MaiN~MaiN responded. So the young artist said he would have to make do. MaiN~MaiN later returned to the booth and recorded, his first r&b song, "Struck" Feat. Demetria Ewing. After long, MaiN~MaiN thought his recording career was over , when he had found out that his, not only producer, but the same artist he grew up with in the studio, was going to start charging him 8$ to record. "I'm not giving out gas money," MaiN~MaiN pronouced. MaiN~MaiN later told me while intervewing him, "money wasn't everythang, and one day i'll be doing me."
2008 came, and recording artist MaiN~MaiN was right, he said he was going to be doing him, and now he has got him his own studio, and will be producing hitz from now on. New to production, but old to the game the 17 year old is just getting started. Now that he not only writes his own music, but is producing it all at the same time. MaiN~MaiN is focusing on putting alabama on the map, bringing his unique style of writing and with his unparalleled voice, his eyes are in the future.
